How to Use the Calculator

To use this calculator, follow these simple steps:

1. Enter the size of the object in the “Enter size” field.
2. Select the units of the size from the dropdown menu.
3. Select whether the size is “on blueprint” or “on ground”.
4. Choose a standard scale from the “Standard Scale” tab or enter a custom scale in the “Custom Scale” tab.
5. Select the units for the result from the “Display result in” dropdown menu.
6. Choose the number of decimal places to round the result to from the “Round result to” dropdown menu.
7. Click the “Calculate” button to see the scaled size.
8. If you need to start over, click the “AC” button to clear all fields.

Understanding the Results

Once you click “Calculate”, the result will show the scaled size of the object. The result will indicate the original size, the units, and the location (on blueprint or on ground), as well as the scaled size and units.

Example

Let’s say you have a blueprint of a building, and the size on the blueprint is 50 cm. You want to know the actual size on the ground at a scale of 1:100. Enter 50 in the “Enter size” field, select “cm” as the units, choose “on blueprint” as the location, and select “1:100” as the scale. Click “Calculate”, and the result will show that 50 cm on the blueprint equals 50 m on the ground.
