How to Calculate Bowl Volume
This calculator computes the internal volume of a bowl (spherical cap shape) in metric units. Enter the bowl diameter and depth to determine its liquid capacity in milliliters and liters.
Example: a soup bowl with diameter 18 cm and depth 6 cm holds approximately 763 mL. A large mixing bowl 30 cm across and 15 cm deep holds about 5.3 liters.
The formula uses the spherical cap volume equation: V = (πh/6)(3a² + h²), where h is depth and a is the radius of the opening.
