This calculator helps you determine the total volume of timber boards in cubic meters and their estimated weight in kilograms.
How it Works:
The calculation is based on the following formula:
- Total Volume (m³) = (Thickness (mm) / 1000) × (Width (mm) / 1000) × Length (m) × Quantity (pcs)
- Estimated Weight (kg) = Total Volume (m³) × Average Wood Density (kg/m³)
The calculator uses an average softwood density of 500 kg/m³ for weight estimation.
Example:
If you have 10 boards, each with a thickness of 50 mm, a width of 150 mm, and a length of 3 m:
-
First, convert dimensions to meters:
- Thickness: 50 mm = 0.05 m
- Width: 150 mm = 0.15 m
-
Calculate the total volume:
- Volume = 0.05 m × 0.15 m × 3 m × 10 pcs = 0.225 m³
-
Then, estimate the weight:
- Weight = 0.225 m³ × 500 kg/m³ = 112.5 kg
