Proper hydration is crucial for overall health and well-being. This calculator helps you estimate your daily water intake based on your individual needs.
How it works:
The calculation considers your weight and gender as primary factors, then adjusts for your daily activity level (sedentary, lightly active, or very active).
- Base Recommendation: The calculator uses a general guideline of milliliters per kilogram of body weight (e.g., 35 ml/kg for males, 30 ml/kg for females).
- Activity Adjustment: An additional amount of water is recommended based on your activity level:
- Sedentary: No additional water.
- Lightly Active: An extra 500 ml.
- Very Active: An extra 1000 ml.
The total recommended intake is displayed in liters and as an approximate number of 250 ml glasses.
Example:
For a 70 kg female with a lightly active daily routine:
Base intake: 70 kg * 30 ml/kg = 2100 ml
Activity addition: + 500 ml
Total recommended intake: 2100 ml + 500 ml = 2600 ml = 2.6 Liters (approximately 10-11 glasses).
Remember, this is an estimate. Individual water needs can vary based on factors like climate, health conditions, and diet. Always consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
