Lawn Watering Time and Water Volume Calculator
This calculator determines the required watering time and total water volume needed to irrigate your lawn based on the lawn area, desired water depth, and sprinkler flow rate.
Formula:
- Water Volume (gallons) = Lawn Area (sq ft) × Water Depth (inches) × 0.623
- Watering Time (minutes) = Water Volume (gallons) ÷ Sprinkler Flow Rate (GPM)
Example:
For a 1500 sq ft lawn, with a desired water depth of 1 inch and a sprinkler flow rate of 10 GPM:
- Water Volume = 1500 × 1 × 0.623 = 935 gallons
- Watering Time = 935 ÷ 10 = 94 minutes
