Use the dimensions that define the shape
For a rectangular object, multiply length, width and height in centimetres and divide by 1,000,000: V = L × W × H ÷ 1,000,000. A 30 × 30 × 30 cm footing, for example, has a volume of 0.027 m³; for several identical footings, multiply that volume by the quantity. A round planter or tank needs the cylinder formula V = πr²h instead. A single centimetre value is only a length, while a value already expressed in cm³ is already a volume and converts directly using 1 m³ = 1,000,000 cm³.
