How to Calculate Gas Cylinder Volume in Imperial Units

Determine the internal volume of gas cylinders in gallons and cubic feet. Enter outer diameter, wall thickness, and height in inches.

Example: a standard 20 lb propane tank is about 12 inches diameter and 18 inches tall, holding approximately 4.7 gallons. A large industrial cylinder 9 inches across and 55 inches tall holds about 8.8 gallons.

Supports flat, hemispherical, and dished end types for accurate internal volume calculations.
