How to Calculate Gas Cylinder Volume
This calculator computes the internal volume of gas cylinders (cylinder with hemispherical or dished ends) in metric units. Enter the outer diameter, wall thickness, and total height.
Example: a standard 50-liter propane cylinder is about 30 cm diameter and 120 cm tall. A 40-liter oxygen cylinder has a diameter of 17 cm and height of 130 cm.
Accounts for the shape of the cylinder ends (flat, hemispherical, or dished) and wall thickness to give accurate internal volume.
