Calculate how many paving stones or tiles you need per square meter and the total quantity for your project.
Stones per m²
Stones needed (exact)
Stones with waste (+%)
*Order this amount to account for cutting and breakage.
This calculator determines the number of paving stones, bricks or tiles needed to cover a given area. Enter the total area to be paved in m², the stone dimensions in centimetres, and a waste allowance for cuts and breakage. Formula: stones per m² = 10,000 ÷ (length cm × width cm); total with waste = area × stones/m² × (1 + waste%). Example: 20 m² of 20×10 cm bricks = 50 stones/m² × 20 m² = 1,000 stones exact; with 10% waste = 1,100 stones. Common standard stone sizes: 20×10 cm (classic brick bond), 20×20 cm, 30×30 cm, 40×40 cm. A 10–15% waste factor is typical for straight runs; allow 15–20% for diagonal or complex patterns.
