Why compare price per square meter?
Price per m² (or per ft²) removes the size bias and lets you compare apartments, offices, retail space, and materials on equal footing. A 90 m² flat at $3,500/m² ($315,000) costs more overall than a 70 m² flat at $4,000/m² ($280,000), yet the smaller one is more expensive per unit — a signal the neighbourhood, floor, or finish carries a premium.

How do I compare two properties quoted in different units?
Convert both to the same unit — price per m² is the international standard. 1 m² equals 10.7639 ft² and 1.19599 yd². If property A is listed at $500/ft² and property B at $5,000/m², divide: A = $500 × 10.7639 ≈ $5,382/m². Property A is slightly more expensive per unit.

Does the currency affect the calculation?
