Rectangle Volume Calculator

This calculator computes the volume of a rectangle with height (depth or thickness). When you add a third dimension to a rectangle, you create a three-dimensional shape whose volume is calculated by multiplying the rectangle's area by its height.

Rectangle Volume = Length × Width × Height
V = L × W × H

How It Works

Enter the rectangle's length and width, then specify the height (or thickness/depth) to calculate the total volume. The calculator accepts measurements in meters, centimeters, millimeters, feet, inches, or yards, and converts the result to your preferred volume unit.

Note: A rectangle with height creates a rectangular solid shape (also called rectangular prism, box, or cuboid).

Supported Units

Input dimensions: m, cm, mm, ft, in, yd

Output volume: m³, cm³, liters (L), ft³, in³, yd³, gallons (US)

Calculation Examples

Example 1: Length = 10 m, Width = 5 m, Height = 3 m
Volume = 10 × 5 × 3 = 150.00 m³
Example 2: Length = 200 cm, Width = 150 cm, Height = 100 cm
Volume = 2 × 1.5 × 1 = 3 m³ = 3,000.00 L
Example 3: Length = 12 ft, Width = 8 ft, Height = 9 ft
Volume = 12 × 8 × 9 = 864.00 ft³
Example 4: Length = 500 mm, Width = 300 mm, Height = 200 mm
Volume = 0.5 × 0.3 × 0.2 = 0.03 m³ = 30,000.00 cm³
Example 5: Length = 36 in, Width = 24 in, Height = 18 in
Volume = 3 × 2 × 1.5 = 0.2548 m³ = 15,552.00 in³
Example 6: Length = 4 yd, Width = 3 yd, Height = 2 yd
Volume = 4 × 3 × 2 = 24.00 yd³
Example 7: Length = 100 cm, Width = 50 cm, Height = 40 cm
Volume = 1 × 0.5 × 0.4 = 0.2 m³ = 52.83 gal
Example 8: Length = 15 ft, Width = 10 ft, Height = 8 ft
Volume = 15 × 10 × 8 = 1,200 ft³ = 33.98 m³
Example 9: Length = 2.5 m, Width = 1.8 m, Height = 1.2 m
Volume = 2.5 × 1.8 × 1.2 = 5.4 m³ = 5,400.00 L
Example 10: Length = 48 in, Width = 36 in, Height = 24 in
Volume = 4 × 3 × 2 = 0.6798 m³ = 41,472.00 in³

Output Settings

Customize your results with adjustable decimal places (0-4) and thousands separators (none, comma, or space) for improved readability of large volume values.
