How to Calculate Vertical Truncated Cone Bottom Tank Volume
Compute volume of a vertical cylindrical tank sitting on a truncated cone (frustum) base. Enter cylinder diameter, cylinder height, cone top/bottom diameters, cone height, and fill level.
Example: a 2 m diameter tank with 3 m cylinder, and a frustum base tapering to 0.5 m over 1 m height, holds about 10,798 liters total. Partially filled to 2 m, it contains approximately 6,283 liters.
Used in fermentation vessels, chemical reactors, and sedimentation tanks.
